Tips for professional leg training
- Foot position: You should always ensure that your feet are in a parallel or V-shaped position, with your legs not in an X or O shape. The foot position also has a significant influence on your training focus. For example, with your feet in the upper part of the footplate, you are focusing on your thighs and buttocks. With your feet in the lower part of the footplate, the focus is on the quadriceps. To train the calves in isolation, only the balls of the feet should be on the footplate (heels are below).
- Posture: Your spine should be in a neutral position, while the ankle, knee and hip joints should be in line. Use the backrest to ensure correct back posture and position your feet on the non-slip footplate. In the extended position, your knees should not deviate inwards or outwards. Use the handgrips to stabilize your position.
- Breathing: Maintain controlled breathing. Exhale as you stretch your legs and keep your back and head flat against the seat cushion. Extend your legs slowly and with control. While inhaling, bend your knees and slowly return to the starting position.
- Gradually increase training intensity: Avoid too much weight to be able to perform movements in a controlled and safe manner.
