We'll give you helpful tips on what you should look out for when buying dumbbells. We've also put together five popular workouts and strength training tips for you. Get started now and achieve your training goals! If you want to make your training with dumbbells more effective, you're probably now faced with the question of which dumbbell bar is right for you. What are the differences? And what do you need to consider when buying dumbbell bars? No problem! We'll give you an overview of our dumbbell bars and their most important features.
- 30 mm dumbbell bar: We currently offer 30 mm dumbbells in three different versions. The dumbbell bars are made from high-quality solid steel and are chrome-plated. Knurled handles ensure a firm grip during strength training. Secure professional fasteners are already included. You can use all standard 30 mm weight plates with these dumbbell bars. 50 mm dumbbell bar: Our 50 mm dumbbells made of special steel impress with their comfortable and secure knurling. Their bearings ensure that the holders are flexible. A distinction can be made here between bush bearings and ball bearings. Both bearings run smoothly and have a good spin.
- 50 mm Olympic dumbbells: Our 50 mm Olympia dumbbell bars are also made of heavy-duty special steel and knurled handles, making them the ideal tool for sweat-inducing training sessions. The Olympia dumbbells also have smooth-running bearings with a good spin. All Olympia dumbbells can be used with a 50 mm weight plate. Due to the diameter of the plates, we recommend using weight plates from 1.25 kg to 10 kg. For fine weight increments from 0.125 kg to 2.5 kg, you can use technical plates or fractional plates.
When buying dumbbells, also pay attention to the load capacity, the length of the holders and the coating. You should know in advance how much weight you will be training with in order to decide on the right length.
OB15: Total length 38 cm, length of dumbbell holder on each side 10 cm
OB18: Total length 44.5 cm, length of dumbbell holder on each side 13.5 cm
OB20: Total length 51 cm, length of dumbbell holder on each side 16.5 cm
By the way: We recommend our high-quality barbell set for anyone who wants to add variety to their strength training.
Additional equipment for your dumbbell training
Admittedly, the 50 mm dumbbells already weigh around 5 kg without weights. So if you are just starting out with dumbbell training, you can even train without weights at the beginning. However, you will see that you will quickly improve. Then we recommend classic 50 mm weight plates. We have six different series in cast iron (with and without rubber coating). You will also need dumbbell locks to ensure safety during strength training.
Good to know: Spring locks are only suitable to a limited extent and cannot always hold the weight plates securely during certain exercises.
What other equipment do you need? You can perform many exercises more effectively with the help of a weight bench. We recommend an incline bench, which you can set to the 90 degree position for shoulder press exercises or the straight position for bench presses, for example. The charming thing about weight training is that you only need a small amount of space for your workout and can do it almost anywhere. The good news: For all those who want to save space, we also offer a foldable weight bench that you can simply fold up after training and stow away conveniently.
Let's get started - the top 5 exercises with dumbbells
Dumbbells are an effective tool for achieving your individual training goals. We have summarized the most popular dumbbell exercises for you:
- Squats: full-body exercise that targets the glutes, hamstrings and quadriceps.
- Bench press: Full-body workout for the chest muscles, triceps and front shoulder muscles.
- Shoulder press: Exercise for the front, side and rear shoulder muscles.
- Bicep curls: Probably the most popular bicep exercise
Safety instructions: You should pay attention to this when training with dumbbells
When choosing exercises with dumbbells, it is important to pay attention to your individual training goals and needs. If you want to build muscle mass, you should focus on exercises that target several muscle groups at the same time. If you want to increase your strength, choose exercises that are performed with heavy weights.
As a beginner, make sure you start with light weights and build up slowly. It is particularly important to learn the right technique to avoid injuries when training with weights. Start by training with a personal trainer who will show you how to perform dumbbell exercises correctly. Agree with your trainer how you want to train and what your training goals are. They will put together a plan for you, showing you which exercises suit your body and your training, how much weight you should choose and how many repetitions are appropriate.
Motivation for strength training - A final word
According to studies, workouts with dumbbells are among the most effective exercises. They make your entire body sweat and train your muscles effectively. In the long term, muscle growth will also help you burn fat.
The most important thing, however, is that you are doing something for yourself and your body. This not only helps you to look better, but also promotes your health and well-being. You'll go through the day feeling confident, mentally stronger and relaxed! So, what are you waiting for? Start your effective training with dumbbell bars now.

This is based on your individual needs and preferences, among other things.
